Let’s support Jordy in his outreach to uni students in Thailand
How? By bringing goods to sell out of your car boot. Attach prices to your items, and make sure you bring coins and small notes with you for change. All proceeds will go to Jordy.
When? Saturday, Sept 24, 9am to 11.30am
Where? In our church car park. We will hopefully also have a sausage sizzle and coffee
A bit about Jordy
Jordy has grown up in Connect and is presently studying at Dunedin University. He is going on a project to Thailand from the 20th of November to the 22nd of December with a University Christian group called Studentlife. Their mission statement as a movement is “to change the world by turning lost students into Christ-centred labourers through our movements on campus.” In Thailand, Jordy will be partnering with the Studentlife movement based at Mejo University in Chiang Mai. They’ll be on campus running outreach events.
97% of the 65 million people in Thailand are Buddhist. Jordy wants to see how God works in the hearts of the Thai people, his own heart, and the hearts of the people on the team he is going with. Also, the region of East Asia/South-East Asia is of interest to where he would like to one day take his degree and share his faith.
To be able to go on this project he needs to raise $5000 by mid-late October. This will cover airfares, food, accommodation, transport, training materials, and insurance, etc, for the duration of the project. The best way he feels to do this is to find a team of people who love the Lord, love the lost, and are willing to partner with him through finances and prayer. Would you consider partnering with Jordy in this mission?
