Faith during the storm:
We have come to the end of July and in the heart of Winter.
On Wednesday after a stormy, few days the Sun arose at dawn with beautiful red and orange colors in the morning sky as a start to a sunny Winter’s Day for Auckland. I called my brother during the day in Ashburton, and it was raining cats and dogs. They have had winds up to 120 mph.
Our country has lots of contrasts. And thinking about current storms in our lives.
- We have had inflation and price rise floods.
- The Gale force wind of Covid is back ripping its tentacles throughout our community as we speak.
- People are struggling with their faith.
But what does “GOD” say
Jesus came to calm the storms that hit our lives.
From Mathew 8: 22-27
23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
“Yes, put your faith in Jesus.” Rebuke in the name of Jesus the negative storms that hit your life.
This morning’s sermon is around 4 men’s faith for their Friend.
What can you do for your unsaved family members and friends? This week.
