Pastor’s Pen April 10

10/04/2022 By Pastor Julie

Anoint us with fresh oil, God

There’s an old school song that has some words I’d like to pray over us as we gather today after months apart. It goes like this….

“Anoint me with fresh oil. Fill me Spirit of God.

Anoint me with fresh oil. Fill me Spirit of God

Help me see your purpose; understand all  Your ways.

Help me see your purpose; understand all  Your ways.

Cos I wanna get closer Lord, so much closer …… to You

Cos I wanna get closer Lord, so much closer …… to You, to You, to You.”

The Lord told Moses to take fine spices, like liquid myrrh, fragrant cinnamon, cassia, and olive oil, and blend them together into a sacred anointing oil, to anoint….

  • The Tent of meeting, the ark of the testimony, the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense, the altar of burning offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand.
  • Aaron and his sons, so they may serve God as priests.

This sacred oil was to be used for future generations to consecrate God’s people and God’s sacred space, Ex 30:22-33.

On Wednesday night the prayer team anointed our sanctuary and our intercessors, consecrating them all to service to God. Today at the end of our service our intercessors and elders would like to anoint you with oil, consecrating you afresh to the service of Jesus.

About Pastor Julie

I’m passionate about the church – building believers up in their faith, to be all God intended them to be; and I’m passionate about sharing the love and hope of Jesus with people who don’t know Him yet.
