What does the resurrection of Christ mean to you?:
If Christ had just died and not been resurrected, He would have beaten the power of sin over our lives but not the power of death. Because he was resurrected back to life and the disciples walked and ate with Him for 40 days after his resurrection, we believers can also be assured that one day, we will also receive a resurrected, glorified, physical body that will never perish. That is a reason to celebrate 😊
However, the resurrection of Christ gives us reason to celebrate now! When Christ ascended to Heaven, he sent his Spirit to live in anybody, throughout the ages, who confesses faith in Christ. The Spirit gives us life in all its fulness. We are no longer under OT Law, but under grace (Ro 6:15). The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord, (Ro 6:23).
“The fruit of the Spirit living in us is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control”, (Gal 5:22). The reason we do not witness these characteristics all the time is that we are choosing to live as our “old self” and not our “new self.” Let us choose to live in the Spirit every day and so make this world a more beautiful place for all, including ourselves.
