CHANCE OF A FRESH BEGINNING:
We’ve all done this! We come back from a wonderful holiday of rest and refreshing and make New Year’s resolutions. It may be renovating the house, shedding the accumulated Christmas fat around our middle, reading our Bible in one year, spending more time with friends and family, or a stack of other ideals. At the time we think we can nail these ideals. But, as we head back into that full work schedule again, our enthusiasm to meet those New Year resolutions is forgotten amidst the need to keep treading water and staying afloat of our ever-increasing workload.
Jesus gives a great example of work/ life balance:
“…crowds of people came to hear Him (Jesus) and to be healed of their sicknesses.
But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed,” Luke 5:15-16.
When Jesus was overwhelmed with others needs and work, he took time out to pray and be revived. Was the work still there on his return? Yes, and more! The difference was that now He had more Holy Spirit power, giving Him fresh perspective, life, and purpose. Prayer is our direct line to God – Creator of the universe and Sustainer of all.
Don’t just have fresh beginning once a year, let your fresh beginning happen daily, in solitary prayer, before your King.
