Pastors Pen 1st November 2020

01/11/2020 By Pastor Julie

When things get tough do we move on or do we participate?

It’s not hard to see the effect COVID 19 has had on Connect. This was not helped by my 4 months’ sabbatical from March to July. Discouragement has hit our church hard. Numbers have dropped markedly. The elderly are ‘health-frightened’. Some of us feel we don’t have friends here anymore and are crying out for belonging. How is the church meant to function in times of crisis?

I’ll tell you how. We knuckle down and each one play our part. If each person who is part of Connect serves in Connect’s life, we will have revival. A Pastor can’t do it. Elders and Ministry Leaders can’t do it. We, the Body need to do it.

Jesus said this of Himself:

“The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve”

Mt 20:28

As Christ’s Body our call is to follow in His footsteps.

1 Co 12:26 says “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it.” Christ wants His church to shine, but to do that we all need to play our part and pull together. You are part of Connect because Christ placed you here. You belong. Ask God how He wants you to participate and let’s start a revival.😊

About Pastor Julie

I’m passionate about the church – building believers up in their faith, to be all God intended them to be; and I’m passionate about sharing the love and hope of Jesus with people who don’t know Him yet.
