Pastors Pen 23rd August 2020

23/08/2020 By Pastor Julie

Let’s exercise ‘kindness’ to all people

“I am the Lord who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness to earth,

for in these I delight,” says the Lord.

Jeremiah 9:24

The Hebrew for the word ‘kindness’ is actually translated as ‘devotion’. The Lord isn’t just kind when He feels like it. God is kind in a devoted way towards us.

And He calls us, as His representatives on earth, to be kind to all people. It’s not easy to exercise kindness when we’re under stress. When we feel threatened, often we raise our defences to protect ourselves, and in fact become less kind to others.

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other,

just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Ephesians 4:32

Let’s be kind to ourselves, kind to our family, kind to our neighbours and kind to all people

About Pastor Julie

I’m passionate about the church – building believers up in their faith, to be all God intended them to be; and I’m passionate about sharing the love and hope of Jesus with people who don’t know Him yet.
