Wisdom’s call and our response
“Choose my instruction instead of silver,
knowledge rather than choice gold,
for wisdom is more precious than rubies,
and nothing you desire can compare with her.”
Psalm 8: 10-11
Christ is calling out to us every day, asking us to seek Him always in everything we do. Christ is “the power of God and the wisdom of God,” (1 Corinthians 1:24), and is freely available to us. Who doesn’t want that? But we must make a choice. Will we follow God’s ways? Will we choose to clothe ourselves in Him everyday? Or will we choose “self” first? The apostle Paul says that in Christ “are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge,” (Colossians 2:3). When we choose to clothe ourselves in Christ daily, praying and listening to God, we will find that “peace” walks with us, “hope” walks with us, “joy” walks with us, and we can both “love” and be loved. Imagine a society where everybody responds to Wisdom’s call. Sadly that won’t happen until Christ’s return. But today, Christ is calling you as His representative on earth. You are called to be light. Shine it brightly. You are called to put on moral righteousness and faithfulness. Wear God’s robe well, child of God.
