This week a Christian from another Baptist congregation emailed me and asked if we had a person by the name of “…………..” in our church. Cautiously I replied “yes,” but didn’t give any more details. “Why do you need to know?” I asked in typical protective pastor manner! She replied, “Because Jesus told me very clearly that I am to bless this person, so will you be in your office tomorrow so that I can drop it off?”
God is gifting some very beautiful surprises to our church people at the moment that are coming straight out of left field. I love it!
First there was the unexpected blessing for our youth from another church. Next were the powerful prophecies for our leaders at the recent retreat day, given by three of our people and three from another Baptist church. And now this week’s blessing for just one of our people, through a Christian stranger! Little did she know that the receiver of her gift had sacrificially served Connect for the past month that had cost him financially.
God “knows” everything about us. He knows when we lay down and get up, and He knows all our needs. We don’t have to wait until the Parousia to be blessed; Jesus Christ is alive and present now, gifting us with his miracles and beautiful surprises. He knows when a faithful church needs a ‘lift up,’ and I believe He is encouraging us to keep going and stay faithful.
That’s our God – the One who delights our souls
