Mōrena ki a koutou katoa (Good morning to you all)
Today our church auditorium looks a little different. Where are all the rows of chairs? What we’ve done is to create space for the church to get into several groups and have a bit of a kōrero (talk) about our common life together. I believe that the fullness of the Holy Spirit is found in the gathered people of God. Individually, or even in families, we don’t have all the wisdom, all the discernment, all the encouragement, all the knowledge, all the prophetic word, or all the love of God. Sometimes we can get it wrong and think it is God talking when in fact it is just our own thoughts and feelings. But collectively, when the church seeks the heart of God for direction and insight, we start to see some common threads as the beautiful hand of God becomes evident. There is power in the Name of Jesus and in His Name we gather and have our being.
I trust that you have been praying this week leading up to our Hui. What is God saying to each one of us as to our participation in the vision He gave CBC? What things do you love about church life? What richness can you bring using your gifts? These are just some of the questions we will be pondering. I look forward to hearing the voice of God speak through His people today.
“There are different kinds of gifts but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all people. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good,” 1 Corinthians 12: 4-7.

About Pastor Julie
I’m passionate about the church – building believers up in their faith, to be all God intended them to be; and I’m passionate about sharing the love and hope of Jesus with people who don’t know Him yet.
