A big welcome to you today if this is your first time at Connect. Make sure you grab a free barista coffee after the service, and a welcome pack giving you all the information about Connect church life. If you are a newcomer in the last few months I would love to visit you in your home. That way we can get to know each other a bit more, and I can pray with you.
As a Baptist Church, we give financially to Tranzsend, which is the sending arm of our NZ Baptist Missionary Society, supporting people serving the Lord overseas, and equipping and empowering people who believe God is calling them to go. Today is our last week of Prayer and Self Denial. Our church family have been “denying” themselves something (like a coffee or takeaways) and saving that money to give to Tranzsend’s work. We will take up that collection today and next week.
On that note, if you would like to pray for the Muslim world, that they would have a revelation of Jesus Christ, then please see Kirsty, our Global Missions ministry leader, who can give you information on how to pray through the month of Ramadan; May 16 to June 14.
If you would like personal Christ-centred prayer, or would like to join one of our prayer groups, we meet Wednesday nights, in the chapel behind the stage, 7.30pm – 9pm; Thursday mornings 10am – 11am, here in the auditorium; and 9.30am Sunday mornings in the church office. Please just come along and join us. You can also email Susan Reyngoud for prayer requests on our prayer chain.
May God’s grace be with us all

About Pastor Julie
I’m passionate about the church – building believers up in their faith, to be all God intended them to be; and I’m passionate about sharing the love and hope of Jesus with people who don’t know Him yet.
