Kia ora e te whanau,
How are you going with denying yourself some material things and putting that money aside towards our NZ Baptist Missionary Society’s annual appeal? My daughter was telling me that she sponsors a young adult in the Philippines whose family survives on just $90 a month! This got me thinking about how far our donations can go towards our Baptist field-workers in Asia and the Pacific. What an honour to participate with God’s work in other nations.
“Tranzsend is the sending and ministry arm of the NZBMS. It exists to reach, redeem and restore the people of Asia and the Pacific. It is a community of individuals, couples and families who work with local and international agencies to engage in education, resourcing, development, church planting, training and business. They work in urban and rural contexts, across several regions and in a number of countries,” (NZBMS website)
He auaha hou (made new) is the theme for this year’s P&SD. Our donations will help take others on a journey towards forgiveness and renewal through faith in Jesus Christ. Wonderful!
Today my sermon is about how the Holy Spirit gives us new perspective on our worldview and everyday life, when we choose not to resist Him, but rather, allow Him to unleash His transforming power on our thoughts and actions.
May the peace of God, and the love of God, and the hope of God, fill us every moment
