Connect has been involved in some interesting activities this last week. Last Friday, Saturday and Sunday 17 Connect women attended our yearly women’s camp held this year in Ngaruawahia. Our guest speaker was Suzanne Holmes, mother of 4 girls, who shared her story of God’s faithfulness during the 10 years she nursed her husband, who suffered a terminal brain tumour at a young age. The camp was a great way to build stronger relationships with each other, giving space to relax, enjoy bush walks, laugh together, play games and sing….we did a lot of singing….and eating!
Back here in Auckland, Henry, Samson, Jordan Shore, Soli, Bruce Wallen, Jonathan Simes and Thomas Williams attended The Engage Conference on evangelism. They will be sharing in the service next week.
Yesterday Connect’s ministry leader’s and elder’s held their annual retreat, which was at Carey Baptist College this year. We developed an action plan following on from the “Setting the church free” weekend with Derek Pyle. Thank you to all our leaders who gave up their Saturday for the benefit of our people.
This week, for the first time in 12 months, the full team (minus Rex) of our new ministry, “Breaking Strongholds” met together. There has been much spiritual opposition to this ministry, but we are now ready. We have a launch date! November 18; 7.30pm until 9pm. This ministry will be held on the third Saturday of every month during 2018. It is designed for anyone who struggles in life with the results of sexual abuse or past involvement, either passively or actively, in Freemasonry and the occult. Further details to come.
God is doing a new thing among us. It’s fresh. It’s anointed. He is building up His church and sending us out. Lives are being saved (another just this week) and people are finding healing and solace in our church community. I love our church family 🙂
Thank you, Lord for your powerful presence
