Today is our last week of “Prayer and Self-Denial,” which is the annual Baptist appeal for the work of our New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society (NZBMS). Their mandate is to enable Baptist churches of NZ to fulfil the Great Commission anywhere in the world that God may direct. Each week we have shown you videos of the great ministry that is happening through Baptists in Asia.
We are each called to use our gifts, talents and financial resources to further the Kingdom; serving others and God. How have you gone praying for the work of NZBMS, and also “denying” yourself that coffee or that leisure activity, and putting that money in your kete? Today we are collecting up that money. If you have forgotten to bring it, don’t worry, we will take a second collection next week.
Can we also please be security conscious when we talk about our overseas workers on social media, whether that be the likes of Facebook or even email. Please do not publish surnames or specific locations. Many staff are serving in difficult and at times hostile contexts, and we don’t want to compromise their safety in any way.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
Matthew 28:19
