Good morning friends. It’s good to be back among you. A special welcome to all our visitors today, please stay for a hot drink after our service
The Baptist Pastor’s Lead conference in Lower Hutt this last week was actually very good. The days were long (9am until 9pm, with a dinner break) but each day was a mixture of helpful workshops, sermons, worship, and personal ministry.
A prophet gave me this word: “You have a strong anointing as a shepherd. I have a picture of you climbing Mount Everest. God is at the top and He has this huge lifeline attached to you. I don’t know what He has in store for you but it’s huge.” So church, it looks like we’re on a journey of discovery that could stretch us!
There was a lot of talk at this conference about the purpose of the church as ambassadors for Christ – we are ALL responsible for witnessing the Gospel of Christ and bringing others to faith; not just the leadership. When was the last time you shared your faith with a family member, friend or colleague, and lead them to the Lord? How many people in your lifetime have you helped bring to faith? Here’s the challenge that I’m putting out to Connect. Each of us must share our faith with 3 people every month. Each week hereafter we will share testimonies. OK? Are you up for it? What I noticed about the Baptist churches that were growing in new believers was that EVERY person in their congregation took Christ’s Great Commission seriously. So come on church, we’ve had enough training through the Hope Project etc on how to share our faith. Now we just need to each get on and do it. Actually it is about “bums on seats” because those we don’t save today will suffer if Christ were to return tomorrow. God bless us as we each step out in faith to increase the Kingdom and grow God’s church.
