Praying the Lord’s Prayer

03/06/2016 By Admin

lord's prayer

Our focus this morning is on how to be “salt and light” for Jesus Christ in today’s world. One daily tool which I’ve found helps me stay on track is to “prayerfully” pray the Lord’s Prayer: Mt 6:9-13

Our Father in Heaven

Hallowed (holy) be Your Name

Your Kingdom come Your will be done

on earth as it is in Heaven

Give us this day our daily bread

And forgive us our debts (trespasses)

as we also have forgiven our debtors

And do not bring us to the time of trial (lead us not into temptation)

but rescue us from the evil one

(deliver us from evil)

(For Thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory

Forever and ever) Amen

In praying this prayer we acknowledge that we have a spiritual Father, who abides in Heaven. Therefore that is our spiritual home. We declare that God is pure and sovereign. We invite His Kingdom to come to earth now, and for His will to be done, and not ours. We ask God to supply our needs to survive. We ask God to forgive our daily sins, and are reminded of those we must also forgive. We ask God to protect us from the devil’s snares. We end our prayer with a declaration that God reigns supreme with all power and authority forever. “So be it” (Amen). Why not write this prayer down and read it aloud every day. The Church is in spiritual warfare and this prayer is a blessed covering. Go well
