Walking in the light
When have you tried to describe an awesome experience and could not find the right words?
Something similar happens with a description of heaven. Heaven is the awesome experience that awaits God’s people. But when we try to describe it, our vocabulary is limited. There are not enough words to describe what heaven holds for us. Describing heaven is like asking a child to create a copy of a famous painting with chalk.
We read in Revelation of the bright future awaiting God’s people. When we think of the reality of our heavenly home, in God’s glorious presence forever, a joy will grow in our hearts that will direct the way we live. The Apostle Paul said, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18)
The certainty of Heaven directs us to live in a way that glorifies God.
